Lumpfish. It’s like caviar, but less refined. A little stronger and definitely not as palatable. This joint project with the is the brainchild of Claire Cottrell & Alison Williams (a.k.a. Academy of Archivists) Caviar, a production company located in Brussels, Amsterdam, and Los Angeles wanted an area for their young talent to beam out their content in viral fashion. Funkhouser Design came in as technical advisors / programming support and customized an existing tumblr theme and made it lumpfish. This experiment in lo-fi web development, mixed with existing blog technology is where the future is going. You do not need big bucks to create some thing professional and effective. Did I mention the content is fantastic!
Over the past three decades Bonnie Schiffman has photographed hundreds of celebrities from George Burns to Jerry Seinfeld; Julia Child to Joni Mitchell; Muhammad Ali to Warren Buffet, all which have appeared in most major US and International magazines. The energy and spontaneity that Bonnie brings to her work is what gives rise to her unique images; we get a new and honest perspective of her subjects. Lauri Kratochvil, former photo director of Rolling Stone and In Style magazine, said it best, “Bonnie doesn’t put herself in to the picture. She lets people do what they do so you don’t get the celebrity, you get the person”. Now Bonnie has archived a collection of portraits whose importance lay not only in their capture of her signature style of photography, but also in their contribution to the chronicles of American cultural history.

SKD celebrates 25 years in business. Stuart wanted to develop a microsite that was exploratory in nature and captured the culture of the company, projects completed over the years, and the awards bestowed. The concept was to set the user in a space-like warp field with the years in business. Click on a year and zoom in to a slideshow and a tune from that year.
Stuart has been leading the pack in the area of medical product design and wanted to showcase more of these projects. The goal was to lead the user to an area that had all of the projects in one spot as well as make it visually engaging.
Karten needed an area on the website that had a full administration system to showcase recent happenings and accolades. By using the Indexhibit CMS system we achieved perfect blend of simple clean design with ease use for the people at SKD.
